The team charter carrying the University of Oregon football team landed at the Eugene Airport at 12:44 a.m. on Sunday.
Oregon State’s team plane landed 75 minutes later on the same tarmac at Mahlon Sweet Field, right around 2 a.m.
Both football teams were winners on Saturday night. The last time the Ducks and Beavers both won road football games on the same day came nearly four years ago (Oct. 8, 2022).
That particular Saturday, Oregon beat Arizona, 49-22, and OSU edged Stanford, 28-27. It was a legacy Pac-12 two-fer.
On Saturday, Oregon State defeated UTEP, 33-7. It had been more than two years since the Beavers won a road football game. They’d lost at Houston earlier this season in Week 1, extending the road losing skid to 10 straight.
The other nine losses had nothing to do with JaMarcus Shephard and the majority of players on his roster, but I find this worth noting. Also, I’m now thinking about something much bigger.
