Oregon State’s football hiring committee worked late into Thursday night, whittling down the list of candidates for the job of head football coach.
Athletic Director Scott Barnes will conduct final interviews next week.
Two finalists?
That was the plan. But I’m told by a source involved with the hiring process that there was equal enthusiasm for three candidates. It caused a deadlock, hence the late evening, and a process that apparently produced three finalists.
Decide for yourself if this is a good thing, but it appears that a trio of candidates will advance to next week’s final round, where they’ll meet with Barnes.
Some new and interesting names have emerged in the process.
