Canzano: Oregon Ducks played like they owned the place
My column from Husky Stadium.
SEATTLE — There were three minutes left on the clock at Husky Stadium on Saturday, and the Oregon Ducks were ahead by two scores and had the ball.
I heard a distinct sound from my seat in the press box.
“Ding Dong.”
A doorbell?
At the football stadium?
I looked down and saw Washington’s home stadium emptying. Before the game, staffers had stood at the gates and handed out purple towels printed with “B1G DAWG ENERGY” in white letters. Now, it looked like someone had pulled the fire alarm, and a bunch of UW fans still holding the towels were scurrying for the exits in an evacuation drill.
