The University of Oregon slammed the door on an era of USC football on Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
Oregon outgained the Trojans in yards, outscored them in points, and outclassed them on the field. The final score: 41-27. No doubt. And here was UO coach Dan Lanning in the post-game news conference, punctuating the night with a hammer quote.
"3-0 against these guys,” Lanning crowed. “I guess if you’re a good football player in the area, you should come to Oregon. Or you can stay in LA and go to a Chris Brown concert.”
It was amazing theater, wasn’t it? Heroes. Villains. A packed house and an NBC television stage. And I haven’t even mentioned the most impressive part of Oregon’s night yet.
