Ever heard of the guy the ancient Greeks called Kairos? The youngest son of Zeus? Born with wings on his feet? A god with a single lock of hair, creeping down over his eyes?

Ring a bell?

The back of his head was bald. If you wanted to stop Kairos, you had to reach out and seize him as he was in front of you. Once he passed, he was gone. Which is only to say that Kairos is the god of the opportune moment or a supreme window in time. And I’m thinking the University of Oregon football team should adopt him as an unofficial mascot.
