That was a hell of a football game. Both teams made mistakes, that's football. But it's incredible that Oregon outrushed and outpassed Ohio State. Yeah, I think we'll be just fine in the trenches, thank you very much. Best win since we smoked Florida State and Jameis Winston.
Hell of a game, Autzen was loud, electric and hostile as usual. I too, find it absolutely awesome that Oregon’s offense just gashed Ohio State’s vaunted Defense that is ranked 1st or 2nd in every category (Ranked number 1, overall) particularly Ohio State’s “NFL ready” secondary that the talking heads were gushing about all week.
Quite simply, Ohio State’s secondary were shelled shocked when Oregon’s receivers were basically having their way with them, to point they had to commit OPI against them to have a chance.
Another nugget for thought: Up to this point, Ohio State’s defense did not allow a 100 yard rusher or a 100 yard receiver all season, Oregon accomplished both!!!
I think there is a ton of parity in college football now with NIL. I was just glad to see that we belong on the same field as the big boys. And yeah, the SEC doesn't look dominant. Tennessee struggling at home against Florida, Alabama struggling at home against South Carolina and losing to Vandy, Georgia having to hold on, at home, to a miserable Miss State team. Seems like this thing is wide open and Ducks are as talented as anyone. Good times.
Very perceptive comment I think. I would include the Ducks tough wins vs. Idaho and Boise St. in the parity argument. Looking across the NCAAF many games are much more competitive and upsets more common.
Congrats John on your pick "The pick: Oregon 31, Ohio State 30". You nailed the point spread and missed the exact score by only one point! (room for improvement :))
The Ducks need to keep their webfoot on the gas pedal. Purdue stood up to Illinois today and might not be a pushover at home next Friday.
This was one of the strangest first half’s of a college game I’ve seen—bad calls, twist of fates, an unfortunate ejection, big plays and a crowd that must have registered on the Richter scale. I’m not a big Duck fan, but have ultimate respect for their play tonight. The crowd made a big difference with the energy and noise they brought throughout the game.
If this isn’t a classic game for the books, I don’t know what is—congrats to the Ducks and to the fans!
Agree with you Ed. Beaver fan here tipping my hat the men of Mighty Oregon! Great win for the team and for the program. The fans showed up and showed out as well!! It was nostalgic for all of us who still believe in the tooth fairy, that the Beatles will reunite, and that the PAC 12 will come back together!!! In all seriousness congratulations to the Ducks for a very tough, hard-fought victory!!!
The Oregon vs. Ohio State game was terrific, but the commentators irritated me big time. They constantly talked about the Ohio State players and coaches, with relatively little mention of the Oregon players. In one instance, they had a long discussion about two of Ohio State's receivers (who are apparently close friends) that continued on during a complete play by Oregon - about which they said nothing! I learned more about who'd transferred to Ohio State than I ever wanted to know. The imbalance was so glaring that many people in our game watch party complained about it. Come on guys - do better!
West coast bias exists forever. Being in the BIG does not change that. They claim us as theirs when it serves them. It’s gross. At the beginning…commentators…Ohio state is locked into a natty mentality …Oregon is trying to prove they belong. F that!!!!
Actually not true. Fox couldn’t broadcast the game because they have the 9am slot and it can’t be that early. They had first choice this week and traded it to NBC who picked the game
One of the commentators was on Dan Patrick on Friday. Then he acknowledged he went ie was biased towards OSU after knocking Oregon. I knew this is what it would be no matter what. Tomorrow the excuses for OSU begin….travel…blah blah blah. We will get little to no credit. Fine by me. Ride the underdog to the big championship and natty please!!!!
I mean, the Ducks started the year pretty flat. And they were still #3 in the polls. I like the Ducks, but any persecution complex that UO fans might have is laughable. It is the most marketing driven program in college football. The NIL pouring in from Uncle Phil is astronomical. Kudos for the win, + as an ex-NIKE employee I would love to see Knight get what he so desperately wants (and paid for) in a natty.
Reminds me f the beavers’ trouncing of the Irish in that bowl game. Commentators went on and ON about ND, the players, their families and coaches. They seemed to Stuart to pay attention to osu when the game was out of hand. Anybody else remember it this way?
You ever hear of trash talking. There was plenty of it going on - and shoving too - just before the spitting. Not to excuse it, but yeah, there was a reason: probably someone talking about someone else's mama.
I Thought it was over when they got in field goal range.. I don't know why they just did not kick it but sure am glad they didn't .. what a hell of a game was on edge of my seat for most of it .. GO DUCKS!!!!!
Coming out and forcing turnovers to start the game (it was definitely a pick) against a vaunted Ohio State offense made me believe the Ducks defense had the moxie to pull it off. Best Oregon game since “fright night” USC on Halloween in 2009.
My heart was stuck in my throat! OMG..what a win for the Ducks! It was crazy, loud, wild, and nothing better at Autzen stadium for the players, the coaches, and the fans! 💛💚💛💚
That was sure a fun game to watch. Oregon left points out there, but they also had only three penalties and zero turnovers. Gabriel was outstanding - especially against that defense.
I woke up today as a duck fan birthed from “before” the success. All day…I’m prepared we will lose. Especially after it was clear Burch wound but be playing. But I kept saying to my husband…I believe we can win. I want them to do it for dan lanning..for themselves…for me! I cried happy tears. I was so proud of them especially through adversity (first OSU drive-interception? (At least incompletion). Missed PI calls. Special teams disasters. I said after Boise state I was encouraged…it took grit. Grit won tonight. 💚💛🏈💚💛🏈
Same here, still remember the infamous Toilet Bowl. I was anxious, and really thought we were going to lose tonight. But it was quickly evident that we belonged on the same field. So happy to be wrong.
I get it. Same era here, but folks, it's time for us to move on. Confidently welcome these challenging games as opportunities to either prove our strength or learn and improve. That's what a winning tradition feels like.
My wife spent most of the game in the kitchen. She tended to be in the kitchen whenever something big happened. She’d come back screaming when she heard us all yelling wanting to know all about it. We were annoyed having to explain. Then our practical and intuitive 11-year old grandson noticed that it seemed that she was out of the room whenever Oregon did something good. That pattern held and eventually we told her to leave and then she’d just leave on her own every time the Ducks really needed something positive to happen. It was flawless. She was the MVP of our family’s watch party.
What a great game! Will people finally just stop with the premise that Oregon can’t play in the trenches with the big boys?!
This is one of the best ever, maybe the best ever, at Autzen. And I’ve been going to them all for over 40 years. So incredibly loud and intense for 60 minutes. I’ve learned there is no such thing as a perfect game. Crazy stuff happens, bad calls, lucky and unlucky breaks, it’s all part of football. But, wow, what a gutsy win. My voice is gone, but so worth it!!
It’s now 9:35 and I can finally have my heartbeat back down to its normal rate.
We won! No more agonizing over the tough stuff ( botched PAT, 2 huge blown red calls that hurt us, not having our best defender, couldn’t get a yard or two more than once. )
Instead focused on what we did do- buckled down and played like we are a top 5 team! ( after tomorrow prob a top 2 team).
Listened to 7 of the 8 pundits for the game choosing Ohio State , and in many ways kind of dissing Oregon, it just feels so darned great. Thrilled for the team, for Lanning, for all of us fans, for the Knights.
Dang, just talking about it getting my heart rate up again.
No dawg in the fight but being an SEC bottom schooler I’ll always cherish my autumn football weekends. I can tell you as a lucky one just to get just one shot at the chin of the big cheese made my kollege Kareer all the more fun!! Thanks Ducks !!!sure was a great day and looking forward to an even a greater year🏈🏈🏈🏈Best to you and the “O”
“They weren’t perfect against the Buckeyes. The Ducks know they can play better. But seeing Oregon walk off a winner in a game of this magnitude was new.
Like it was the start of something.”
Let’s hope so John. It was a tough game to watch, but Ducks came away with the win.
Oregon flat out outplayed tOSU. When you consider how many key players were unavailable, the uncalled Bassa takeaway (that could have been a 14 point swing), and the stats, barring bad luck things look bright. I especially loved seeing all the pundits, who said tOSU has no weaknesses and were an NFL team, have to swallow their arrogance toward the "flashy little team out West." The Ducks have come so close in the past. Hopefully they get to the top of the mountain this year. I want to see a Natty- for all the long-suffering fans, Uncle Phil, and for every Duck who's ever played for the U of O. Go Ducks! Oh, and sorry Chip.
That was a hell of a football game. Both teams made mistakes, that's football. But it's incredible that Oregon outrushed and outpassed Ohio State. Yeah, I think we'll be just fine in the trenches, thank you very much. Best win since we smoked Florida State and Jameis Winston.

Perhaps The Ohio State is just overrated, like several SEC teams - none of them have played a top 20, except UGA vs Alabama and somebody had to win?
I think there is a ton of parity in college football now with NIL. I was just glad to see that we belong on the same field as the big boys. And yeah, the SEC doesn't look dominant. How did the nutrias/Nevada game go??? LOL!!!!😂 🤣😂🤣

Thanks.
Do you have some sort of Tom Cruise Minority Report machine that is feeding you these future scores?
Wow
This was one of the strangest first half’s of a college game I’ve seen—bad calls, twist of fates, an unfortunate ejection, big plays and a crowd that must have registered on the Richter scale. Ditto...Epic game.
Lol

“You know. Those soft Pac teams….”
Ask Michigan and the Buckeyes
Yep. Washington beats Michigan, ducks smack Ohio State, and SC got robbed on 2 horrible pi calls - should have won that game.
There is always a narrative...without it, they can't utilize their strategy of tension.
How did Fox and CBS allow NBC to broadcast THIS Game?
I wanted (he's full of) Klatt on hand to discuss tOSU's overwhelming advantage on the LOS.😁
Baseball playoffs is the reason NBC broadcast the game.
Actually not true. Fox couldn’t broadcast the game because they have the 9am slot and it can’t be that early. They had first choice this week and traded it to NBC who picked the game
Being on NBC did not help at all. They should not have access to games of this caliber.
The excuses train has already left the station whistles blowing.

Ohio State has the best roster money can buy lol ... That was great on great and ducks won
Sure. And Oregon has the second. Splitting hairs. I am happy for the Ducks.
Reminds me f the beavers’ trouncing of the Irish in that bowl game. Commentators went on and ON about ND, the players, their families and coaches. They seemed to Stuart to pay attention to osu when the game was out of hand. Anybody else remember it this way?
Yes. I have to cop to remembering the ND vs. Michigan State 10-10 tie game in 1966 when I was a college frosh.
Amen. The Ohio State bias was disgusting to have to constantly listen to.
What happened w/ the spitting? I missed that part (out walking the dog) but that sounds pretty disgusting.
It was not a goid lol. Holden cried in the tunnel. That is not behavior to be tolerated. There may have been a reason, but not appropriate anytime.
You ever hear of trash talking. There was plenty of it going on - and shoving too - just before the spitting. Not to excuse it, but yeah, there was a reason: probably someone talking about someone else's mama.
That's why we listened to the home broadcast on the Ducks app.
Todd Blackledge...how does that noob have a job?
I Thought it was over when they got in field goal range.. I don't know why they just did not kick it but sure am glad they didn't .. what a hell of a game was on edge of my seat for most of it .. GO DUCKS!!!!!
I kept saying…we sure he didn’t slide before 00??? 💛💚🏈
It's a running clock, they didn't get the first down and they didn't get a timeout called in time.
I don’t know why they run that last play. I think it would have a 56 yrd field goal.
They were splitting hairs so to speak. I didn’t understand it either.
Coming out and forcing turnovers to start the game (it was definitely a pick) against a vaunted Ohio State offense made me believe the Ducks defense had the moxie to pull it off. Best Oregon game since “fright night” USC on Halloween in 2009.
Yes, it was an interception.
Yes. I don’t like the play calling inside the five ever. Xtra points included
All credit to the much-maligned O lline that kept DG quite safe in the pocket for most of the game against tOSU's vaunted best in the nation defense.
I woke up today as a duck fan birthed from “before” the success. All day…I’m prepared we will lose. Especially after it was clear Burch wound but be playing. Me too on the all day expectation. A Duck fan of sixty years knows these things
Same here, still remember the infamous Toilet Bowl. I was anxious, and really thought we were going to lose tonight. But it was quickly evident that we belonged on the same field. So happy to be wrong.
100!!!

Lololololo
They will not…unfortunately
She was probably stressed and had to leave.
Let's face it-that game gave us all a lot to worry about at different points.

Dang, just talking about it getting my heart rate up again.
Go Ducks!
At half time, with Oregon leading, a couple of the pundits explainedto us dumb Oregon fans why OSU was going to come back strong.
Signature win. Proving yet again that Autzen has magic. GO DUCKS
