Canzano: Monday Mailbag focuses on Jody Allen, Trail Blazers threat, Pac-12 expansion, Ducks, Beavers, and more
Your questions. My answers.
I found it odd that Jody Allen didn’t mention her brother, Paul Allen, in the post-Super Bowl celebration on Sunday. The estate trustee honored Seattle’s die-hard fans, gave a nod to players, coaches, and the general manager, but omitted her brother.
I texted with a long-time NFL team president after the game, who said, “Wish someone would have thanked Paul.”
I know. Paul has been dead since Oct. 2018. Still, it would have been the right (classy? honorable? simple?) thing to give him a brief mention and acknowledge his lasting contribution to what went down on Sunday. His trust still owns the team. The win is part of Paul’s legacy. It was a puzzling oversight.
This week’s Monday Mailbag delivered a wide array of topics. The Pac-12’s next expansion target? The Mountain West’s bet on North Dakota State?
Ribs on the first date or no? Will the Trail Blazers move to Seattle? Oregon’s basketball future? How about Oregon State hoops?
Thanks to all who submitted questions this week.
