This whole thing started with me as a young sports fan. I loved my teams. And I loved grabbing the sports page from the seat in my father’s car when he got home from work.

I’d pore over the box scores and standings.

I’d look at the pitching matchups.

I read every word — of every story.

Then, I’d discuss it all with my father. In some not-so-insignificant way, this publication is an extension of those conversations. Dad still reads. You’re here for it, too. And one of my favorite installments has become the weekly Monday Mailbag, because it gives you a chance to participate.
