Canzano: Mailbag deals with CFP title game, Pac-2, Oregon-Washington, Big Ten, and more
Your questions, my answers.
HOUSTON — I’m here. I’ve landed. And it might as well be the moon.
Washington will play Michigan on Monday in the College Football Playoff national title game. But before we get into my prediction and answers to your mailbag questions, I have a question for you.
Did you hear the National Transportation Safety Board found the Boeing 737 Max 9 door plug that blew out of that Alaska Airlines flight the other day?
To be fair, a schoolteacher named Bob found it.
I’m simultaneously horrified and fascinated by the whole episode. I was booked to fly on one of those same Boeing Max 9 planes on Sunday. The feds grounded the fleet and ordered inspections.
My United Airlines flight to Houston got canceled. I rebooked on Southwest Airlines, then rebooked again because of a subsequent delay. I didn’t complain. Better to be safe than find yourself sucked out of an aircraft at 16,000 feet.
I landed (gently) in Houston at 1:48 a.m.
I grabbed an Uber, received “sure-fire” cryptocurrency tips from the driver, and checked into my hotel long after 2:30 a.m. When I woke early on Monday morning, I was greeted with a text message from United Airlines, telling me I was free to check in for my return flight home.
I’ll take an aisle seat, I think.
