What is Dundon's motive?
I went to Warren Buffett’s house once. Knocked on the door, and looked around the place while I waited on his porch.
There was a clothesline in the side yard. A handful of white undershirts were hanging from it. A couple of cases of soda pop were stacked off to one side, near a side door. It looked like he’d recently made a Costco run.
Buffett is a famously frugal billionaire. A financially disciplined guy. He drove an older-model car. He used a flip phone. He ate leftovers. We may have a similar kind of animal on our hands as the new owner of the Trail Blazers. Either that or Tom Dundon is just a cheapskate with a hidden agenda.
So which is it?
