MIAMI — Indiana beat Miami, 27-21, on Monday to win the College Football Playoff national championship.
The margins were thin.
Yards were bloody.
Points didn’t come easy.
I don’t know who you were pulling for, but after 60 minutes of football, the difference between the Hoosiers and Hurricanes was essentially a blocked punt. That special teams touchdown play boosted a perennial doormat program to the top of the college football mountain.
“What a gutty game,” Indiana coach Curt Cignetti said. “We found a way, and made one more play.”
