Canzano: Dana Altman's final act needs an assist from Oregon
"He’s got to be getting sick and tired of this s—t."
This college coaching stuff is for the birds, isn’t it?
It was two years ago this month that Dana Altman and I ended up on the phone one dreary morning. He was frustrated. The Oregon Ducks were in an injury-riddled swoon on the basketball court.
“As long as I feel like I'm the best guy for the job, I'll stay with it,” Altman told me. “If the people here ever want to make a change, I won't fight them.”
I will.
Altman’s team is hobbled by injury again this season. It’s 1-10 in the Big Ten and 8-14 overall. The Ducks have lost eight straight basketball games. But there’s a dirty little secret lurking.
