The University of Oregon has the wealthiest donor in college athletics. It has top-notch facilities. It has the branding power of Nike. But next Saturday at Autzen Stadium the Ducks will get the one thing they crave most of all.

The national spotlight.

Colorado’s thrilling double-overtime victory over rival Colorado State ensured that. Coach Prime and his undefeated team are coming to Eugene. The ‘hype train’ will include a ABC audience of 8 million, celebrity appearances and a week of national interviews. UO is getting everything it ever wanted this week.

I suspect the Ducks will seize it.
