Canzano: College Football Playoff angling heats up
Pac-12 president says "clear access" to playoff is key.
Teresa Gould’s first appearance as commissioner of the Pac-12 Conference came on Wednesday in a conference room at a hotel near the Dallas airport. She arrived at the meeting of FBS commissioners alongside George Kliavkoff.
The “Pac-2” sent two representatives to the nine-hour meeting of the College Football Playoff leaders. Gould, the incoming commissioner, and Kliavkoff, the outgoing boss, cast an interesting presence in a room filled with ideas, anxiety, and ambition.
Change is coming to the football playoff.
Where will that leave the Pac-12 schools? How about Big Ten Conference newcomers, Oregon and Washington? And when it’s resolved, will the new format draw in college football fans or alienate them?
