Oregon State and Oregon have three baseball games on the books for next season. But first, I’m wondering how many they’ll end up playing this weekend.

The Beavers and Ducks are both in the Eugene Regional, along with Washington State and Yale. The double-elimination format has me thinking the rivals will play more than once. It’s going to be amazing theater, on an NCAA Tournament stage, in a rowdy atmosphere, and the fan bases are already at each other’s throats.

Meanwhile, one of the other coaches in the four-team regional is reminding everyone that the bracket isn’t just about the Ducks and the Beavers.

I caught up with Oregon baseball coach Mark Wasikowski early on Wednesday morning. I have a talk scheduled with OSU coach Mitch Canham later in the day. But “Waz” had some interesting things to say.
