Canzano: Billionaire makes plans... Pac-12, Oregon, crime, punishment, a secret caddy, and more
Emptying my notebook...
Trail Blazers’ owner-to-be Tom Dundon spent the last couple of days having phone conversations with some key Portland business leaders and potential local investors, I’m told.
More than one source told me that Dundon sounds like he wants to duplicate the blueprint he’s used for success as the owner of the Carolina Hurricanes. There’s a real estate development play in his Portland ownership plan.
The equity structure of the group is taking shape. The NBA’s Board of Governors will still need to approve Dundon’s ownership, but everyone expects it to be rubber-stamped late this year.
I have more thoughts on Dundon’s ownership. Plus, an update on the next piece of the Pac-12’s media rights, and some interesting tidbits on Oregon football, Connor Stallions, ESPN’s “Red Zone” plans, and an undercover golf caddy.
