Canzano: Bill Walton -- and Chip Kelly -- weren't wrong about UCLA
Bruins never should have left the Pac-12.
The athletic department legacy of UCLA was reduced on Friday night to little more than John Wooden and the destruction of the Pac-12 Conference.
Bill Walton wasn’t wrong.
Neither was Chip Kelly.
Those things hit like a bag of bricks as the Bruins football team got outscored 21-0 in the fourth quarter against New Mexico and fell to 0-3 this season. UCLA didn’t just lose the game, 35-10; it paid the visiting team $1.25 million to come to the Rose Bowl.
Just wait for Big Ten play.
