ATLANTA — The downtown Atlanta hotels associated with the College Football Playoff have pop-up merchandise shops in their lobbies.
T-shirts sell for $45.
A long-sleeved pullover with the official CFP logo?
They’re going for $100.
When I launched this publication, I promised that I’d bring you on the road with me. I vowed to take you where the important stories are, and so today, we’re sitting in the lobby of the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, where the smell of commerce is in the air.
The hotel is sold out, sort of. A front desk employee told me the place had a late cancellation. So there’s a room with two queen beds still available if you can make it.
Nightly rate: $927 with taxes.
