GOD bless young Reegan; there is nothing worse in life to experience a serious burn like this one.

Thanks, John for enlightening us on this tragic, but Thank GOD, not a fatal accident. lets hope the Ducks can win for Reegan ! Lanning should send Reegan a "game Ball", regardless of Friday's outcome.

Fact check: I suspect they are hoping to get back to the coast, not Central Oregon. I'm donating to the Go Fund Me right now.

Can one of our readers who is a lawyer please offer their services to this family. The may not want to litigate, but the bill when it comes due could be devastating. The toy company had a duty to warn and simply did not do enough to warn what would happen when microwaving this toy. This family has been financially harmed by this toy, and the toy company needs to be held responsible for this. It can't be prevented with fine print - It needed to be in large bright colors - DO NOT HEAT OR MICROWAVE THIS PRODUCT - The company failed and did not act in good faith to the market place and in addition, this product should be recalled and taken off the market.

John, if you create a GO FUND ME account for this family, we will donate, as I'm sure many others would as well.

With all due respect and consideration for Reegan and you, as a practical matter, there is no way to insulate a product via warnings or otherwise from its possible misuse by an unthinking public. Have you purchased a step ladder recently? Every square inch of the surface of the product is covered with warnings and yet people fall off of them, every day.

People shoot and kill each other accidentally with firearms, every day. People die in auto accidents, every day. Every business carries liability insurance because, sometimes, people do the wrong thing. "Fault" and "blame" have fueled a tort law industry of massive proportions and we all pay for it thru higher insurance premiums or no coverage. Ask the people who were burned out in the recent disastrous Southern California fires. There is no free lunch.

If that happened to my kid or even a kid I knew, you bet I would go after both, and my attorneys would win!

If adults can sue McDonalds for getting scalded by hot coffee, I think there is a huge lawsuit coming, because I don’t think this will be the last one that involves a kid. Most basic rule of teaching industry is adults are responsible for keeping kids safe, and both the company and tik tok failed in doing so!

What if one of these toys is simply left in a car in the Arizona summer heat? Could it explode on us from simply picking it up? Yesterday I went to a gift shop. Floor to ceiling, the display in the kids' section showed these squishies. They are so popular. My kids already owned half of them. I think toy manufacturers should try their best to keep children safe. They should be held to a higher standard. TikTok should too. Allowing harmful kid-focused videos to go viral is shameful. Thank you to John for making us aware. Maybe the NeeDoh packaging will do a better job of that in the future.

Why does the toy have gel in it that can heat up to that level? There are a ton of toys out there now made of all sorts of gels. Gels that expand. Gels that stretch. Perhaps it is time for a full testing process and report by a journalist.

Sports are not everything. They are entertainment. Pro sports, especially, are most money grabs, yet some peeps swear loyalty to them.

Hope Reegan gets better. Gonna try to donate; thanks for posting GoFundMe link.

These trends are so dangerous. Wish they would prosecute the ones who start them. I was at store the other day, and noticed Tide pods locked up. I asked an employee why, and it was because of a TikTok trend where kids pop them in their mouths.

Get better, Reegan. Use this as a learning experience. Most of is did stupid sh*t as kids. For those of that learned from that, we are better adults for it.

Geography gaffe or not, one heck of a story John. Yanks us all back to the real world. No way the Ducks can lose the Indiana game now. Tag my account for a subscription with the proceeds going to the GoFundMe.
